It’s time. Well, it’s past time. This past year has been wonderfully busy. We moved from California to Oregon, bought a house, decorated the house, redid the yard, and tried to get ourselves settled in. Now that things have settled down a tiny bit my goal to get back into blogging. I love crafting and sharing my love of making things with the world. So now it’s time to get back into the groove.
One of the things I have always dreamed of having is my own crafting and sewing room and now that dream has finally come true! I love my new room and want to share my tips for organizing all of those teeny tiny crafting goodies that tend to take over the entire house. Really, it’s like they multiply all on their own!
I love have this little spot in the room. Since Jack loves working where mommy is, he especially loves having his own workspace in the craft room. I got this $10 coffee table from Ikea and it actually is the perfect size for a kid’s desk! The little train shelf was also a great clearance find from The Container Store. That way Jack’s activity and coloring books are very easily accessible for him.
Here is my Cameo Corner. Gotta love the alliteration! I keep my cutting mats hung on the left side so that they are always easily available and they don’t accidentally get folded. I also keep a roll of contact paper above the Cameo for easy reach to do vinyl transfers. Who knew that that stuff was soooo great to transfer vinyl cutouts?! I will definitely have to do a post on how to use contact paper to transfer vinyl cameo cutouts in the near future.
I really like the versatility of the Ikea Expedit furniture. When I first purchased the drawer inserts I was sure they wouldn’t work. They looked so flimsy! But, I was pleasantly surprised. I think that the inserts are one of the best inventions Ikea has made for the Expedit. They are the perfect size and are fairly easy to install yourself.
Well, sit back, relax and enjoy the video tour. I am so excited to be back.
Great sewing table! Would love to see a reveal video showing the details of the table. Thanks so much for showing us your room!
